Back Saver Plates
In this photo you can clearly see the stainless steel plates mounted just forward of the netting pockets onto which we have mounted the cleats that were originally on the front crossmember. The cleat that holds the furling line is on the far side with a dead eye in front of it, although the front line has been removed. The Back Saver Plate (BSP) in the front of the picture takes the main sheet which you can see running from under the front crossmember and through the cleat.
Both BSP's have been fitted with RAM ball mounts which can be interchanged for size, these are used to mount different pieces of equipment, (e.g. the starboard side had an 1 1/2" ball for mounting a RAM revolution rod holder and the port side has a 1" ball used with a long RAM socket arm for mounting depth sounder). Both BSPs also have a mounting button for securing the eyelet of the tramp to the hull with rope or bungee (the latter not fitted in the photos).

Rear Plates
The next few photographs show the results of shifting the rear crossmember on the Adventure Island towards the stern a small amount to allow the amas to pivot back parallel to the hull (as they do with the Tandem Island). This means easier transporting both on the trolley and loading onto the trailer. We have also fitted plates equipped with RAM ball mounts underneath the crossmember fixing so rod holders can be mounted for trolling.
The RAM ball mount allows for many items to be attached as desired.
The amas now fold in very neatly beside the main hull without their bows splaying or pointing outwards
